Woodstock
Cablik Enterprises was awarded the Little River Pedestrian Bridge project in Woodstock, Georgia. After careful planning, the 150-foot long bridge was set in the Spring of 2011, and it all went into place seamlessly.
The bridge is comprised of three pieces, each weighing around 21 tons. One piece was set from the more remote side of the river where a road had to be built in order to get the machinery to the site. The other two pieces were unloaded and bolted together on the ground on the parking lot side. Then the 42-ton double section was lifted into place. Next the third piece was lifted from the other side and the two sections were bolted in the air and then the entire bridge was set with both cranes.
The equipment used included a 70-ton off-road crane on the remote side with dozer and excavator to make road, and a 240-ton crane on the parking lot side with 125 tons of counterweight for the big crane.
Congratulations to the team!
