“Senegal” is a custom modern home designed by Dencity LLC and built by Cablik Enterprises.
The Justice / Kolhlsdorf Residence, also known as “Senegal,” is a custom-built home in Sandy Springs. The homeowners selected Cablik Enterprises to build their home after viewing other custom-built homes constructed by Cablik Enterprises’ residential division. The home was constructed using modern architectural styles and unique structural designs, including a large amount of insulated, high-performance storefront glass. The architect performed passive solar design and integrated large overhangs to minimize exposure to sun light and the elements.
Consistent with our commitment to sustainability, this residence is an Earthcraft-certified home. Earthcraft is a residential green building program of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association in partnership with Southface. This program serves as a blueprint for energy- and resource-efficient homes. The home features high-performance spray-in insulation and insulated foundation walls, along with a home automation system that will control lighting and HVAC to ensure that no energy is being wasted. The entrance to the home features the kitchen, dining, and living room areas, and powder room. The dining / kitchen area has amazing 28’ ceilings. To the right are the master bedroom with deck, mast bath, master closet, and office. The left side features a 3-car garage and storage.
The upper level is accessed via floating stairs, and it contains a guest bedroom and bath, and an aviary. This upper-level bedroom looks down upon the kitchen through a large wall of glass.
The lower floor is also accessed via floating stairs, and it contains an entertainment area with wine cellar, vertical gardens, one bedroom and two baths.
All of the exterior decks are cantilevered out using steel beams with no supports underneath. The exterior contains a very unique veneer consisting of large pieces of Egyptian stone and IPE.
